The Godfrey Dean Art Gallery is offering a new program to support individuals living with dementia and their care partners in Melville, Yorkton, Canora, Preeceville, and other communities in the area. On November 14^th, the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery of Yorkton hosted its first dementia friendly event – a special reception as part of the Dementia Supports in Rural Saskatchewan project where guests were treated to an afternoon of art, storytelling, and community building. The reception included a guided tour of the exhibit Flower People, as well as presentations from our Dementia Community Coordinator, Jackie Hofstrand, and Jeff Morton, Director and Curator of the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery.
